For Organizations
The most rewarding and challenging part of work is people.
As a leader within your organization, you feel responsible for improving morale, building a culture of wellness, and increasing engagement among your people. Maybe these interests are reflected in your development goals for the year.
But turnover is an ongoing struggle throughout the organization. Workloads are increasing but you can’t add headcounts or offer more compensation and PTO. Things are always changing and direct reports are struggling with ambiguity. Teams are siloed and frequent miscommunication causes conflicts and project delays. People are struggling with disengagement.
Let’s look at a few ideas that can help.
Sidebar’s Approach
More emphasis needs to be placed on the psychology of emotion in the workplace. In supporting you, Sidebar takes an educational approach that leverages peer-reviewed research literature to help you navigate systemic issues and tackle specific challenges affecting the well-being of your people.
After working with Sidebar, you will have frameworks for understanding behaviors, strategies for improving recovery, and guidelines for cultivating a sustainable culture of wellness and performance within your team and your organization as a whole.
Sidebar delivers these results in three ways:
Presentations
You want to reach a broader audience to motivate, build a culture of wellness, and educate on best practices for performance and recovery.
In presentations, I show up with professionalism and humor, vulnerability and humility, and connection and meaning. The content and style is informative, engaging, and supported with research. I'll ask the audience questions as food for thought and support anyone willing to offer their comments in return.
In turn, I’ll help you build a culture of improved well-being, stronger internal rapport, and greater engagement.
Groups and Workshops
Your team needs help. Maybe people have been having trouble communicating and building trust, or engagement in general is noticeably declining.
At the team level, we are better able to dig in, identify specific issues, and spend time properly working through solutions.
I have a variety of tools available including assessments, content for education and training, and practice sessions. Whether it’s an hour, a day, or multiple days, I can tailor an engagement to suit the wellness objectives for your team.
Depending on content, CLE credit may be available.
Research
You have your own questions about professional development, mental health, and well-being. Maybe you’re considering a policy change. Something new is happening you’re figuring out how to be more supportive.
Leveraging peer-reviewed sources and academic literature, I provide concise, actionable analyses and recommendations with supporting research to help you make choices and navigate times of uncertainty.
If I can help you, your team, or your organization with a talk, workshop, or research, I would welcome hearing from you.
