About Matt Shin, J.D., M.A.

Owner of Sidebar Counseling, LLC

You might be here wondering what it would be like to work with me. Whether I would be able to help, what my background looks like, what I actually do, and how I do them would all be reasonable thoughts and questions.

In sessions, the short of it is I ask questions, I observe, I share what I see, and together we build trust and work through your reasons for coming to see me. I offer my understanding and also tools, strategies, and interventions based in research literature and modern best practices. Sometimes this is just what we need. To safely connect with and trust someone that otherwise has nothing to do with our lives, take a deep dive into who we are and what makes us tick, and see how we might be able to tick a bit better.

For broader groups, seminars, and programs, I leverage my skills and experience from my past life as a practicing attorney to provide engaging, research-backed and vetted content in a strategic, highly methodical manner. I’m constantly reading, researching, learning, and testing new material and concepts. I regularly engage with various populations of working professionals while focusing on identifying their interests and needs to craft meaningful content and programming on mental health and wellness.

If this sounds like a good fit, I would welcome a note from you.
